That was not part of the plan
After we made our polka dot popsicles? I… um… I broke the popsicle molds.
Not on purpose! They’d been well-used already, so I don’t feel terrible — but we still need popsicles. They’re kind of a staple food around here.
This week we made pops in paper cups with wooden sticks. They’re charming and enormous.
These call for maple syrup
I mixed maple syrup into these, but… unless you mix more thoroughly than I did, the maple syrup all falls to the bottom of the popsicle mold.
However! Since the bottom of the mold is the TOP of the pop, the syrup drips down the popsicle as it melts. Neat, huh?
I may just pretend I meant to do that all along.
Apple Pie Popsicles
1 1/2 cups vanilla yogurt
1 cup applesauce
2 tsp apple pie spice (or to taste)
2 Tbsp maple syrup (or to taste)
Mix and pour into molds, making sure that some maple syrup ends up in each mold. Freeze and eat.
